My Birdie Beauty
This is a chest of drawers I painted with some chalky paint and my own bird and branch design. Paint is the best and fastest way to give a piece of furniture a whole new lease on life. And, if you don't like your results, just choose another color and go for it again! Instant gratification--something I totally love! This chest of drawers sold quickly, so I need to paint another one with a variation on the birds and branches.
Here's a "before" shot of the chest of drawers--bought it at a yard sale for $15--not a bad price for an all-wood, vintage piece!
I love rehabbing and painting furniture, so that will definitely be on the blog. Also, easy vignettes, French anything, and always some pure beachiness will be included. So if any of these things interest you, I invite you to follow my blog--just type your email into the box on the right and hit Submit. Now, on to the next project!
Thanks,
Ruth Anne

DeleteThanks, Gary--I'm basically flying by the seat of my pants right now! It's a learn-as-I-go thing. Thanks for adding my blog to your app--I really appreciate it. And thanks for your comment on my chest of drawers. Hoping to post a new blog entry on a cane-bottom chair very soon.
DeleteOh my word, I love it, what a gorgeous piece. Welcome to Blogland too.
ReplyDeleteI consider it a great honor to have your comment on my new blog! Thanks so much! I look forward to linking up to Inspire Me Tuesday again soon--your blog is an inspiration to me. Love your redecorating--whatever you do is done with such an elegant touch. Thanks again for commenting.
DeleteWelcome, welcome, Ruth Anne! Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my needle book.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great project to share for your first blog post. It turned out wonderfully. I am in the middle of painting a Sauder cabinet/bookcase and it is a real train wreck (since it is not real wood I'm having issues with the paint). I think I finally got it and will be able to put the actual paint on over the primer this weekend.
Welcome! I love this table. I have a single end table I might try doing that way.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging :o] Thanks so much for your comment on my post about becoming an antique mall vendor! I'm so excited and I've also been on Pinterest gathering LOTS of inspiration!

Hi Ruth Anne! I couldn't find any other way to reply to your comment about my bathroom except to comment on one of your posts but I wanted to tell you that wainscoting is pretty easy to do, I did it by myself and I'm not an expert. Show your husband the picture and tell him a single lady did it by herself with no major construction skills and maybe he'll bite! lol!
